To advance the Yangtze River Delta integration strategy and promote the coordinated development of industrial clusters, global expansion, and the integration of domestic and international trade, the 2026 Yangtze River Delta Cross-border E-commerce Fair was held in Wuxi from June 16 to 18.
At the Global Cross-Border Resources Zone, Focus Technology Co., Ltd. (“Focus Technology”) showcased its comprehensive AI product portfolio. Lu Yi, Vice President of Focus Technology and General Manager of its AI Center, was invited to attend the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech titled “Foreign Trade Enters the Deep-Water Stage of AI Adoption: From Process Efficiency to Closed-Loop Business Growth.” His presentation provided a panoramic view of Focus Technology’s vision for the “AI + Foreign Trade” ecosystem—from foundational technology development to intelligent global connectivity.
According to Lu Yi, traditional foreign trade businesses are facing increasingly evident challenges, including rising customer acquisition costs, complex and inefficient operational workflows, and the difficulty of scaling individual expertise across organizations. As a result, digital transformation has become an urgent priority for foreign trade enterprises.
“How can companies bridge the technology gap and translate AI capabilities into tangible orders and profits? How can they leverage end-to-end intelligent transformation to rebuild competitive advantages?” Lu noted. “The answers lie in deeply re-engineering business scenarios and systematically embedding AI across the entire workflow.”
As one of China's earliest high-tech enterprises specializing in the development and operation of e-commerce platforms, Focus Technology has evolved over the past three decades into a diversified internet company serving the full foreign trade value chain, while also expanding into artificial intelligence, financial services, and insurance.
Focus Technology has consistently pursued a strategic focus on vertical AI applications for foreign trade. Its AI journey began in 2016 with the establishment of a world-class AI team dedicated to Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Computer Vision (CV), laying a strong technological foundation.
Starting in 2020, the company began integrating AI across its core businesses. Its self-developed image search model was successfully deployed on Made-in-China.com, the company’s comprehensive end-to-end foreign trade service platform, while an intelligent customer service system was launched to enhance operational efficiency through algorithm-driven automation.
Since then, Focus Technology has accelerated the commercialization and continuous innovation of its AI offerings, building a comprehensive AI ecosystem spanning four key areas: global marketing and conversion, sourcing and procurement decision-making, cross-border distribution and operations, and organizational productivity and enablement.
Lu Yi highlighted that on the supplier side, Focus Technology launched AI Mic (AI麦可) in 2023, becoming one of the first companies to deliver comprehensive AI applications in the B2B foreign trade sector. Designed to address suppliers’ needs for efficient lead generation and intelligent business opportunity conversion, AI Mic has evolved through multiple iterations. Today, its capabilities include product listing creation and optimization, AI-powered product publishing, video generation, content creation, lead nurturing, and industry-specific customer development.
By the end of 2025, AI Mic had served more than 18,000 enterprises and helped Chinese suppliers automate up to 80% of their daily operational tasks.
As more exporters establish independent websites as official gateways to overseas markets, they often encounter challenges such as limited traffic acquisition, low inquiry conversion rates, inefficient customer engagement, slow content production, burdensome social media management, and weak data analytics capabilities.
To address these issues, Leadong AI, developed by Nanjing Focus Leadong Cloud Computing Technology Co., Ltd., provides a comprehensive AI-powered solution for independent website operations. Through intelligent customer acquisition, AI customer service, growth engines, social media management, and its AI content creation platform MoliAI, Leadong AI enables enterprises to achieve an intelligent, end-to-end operational closed loop.
Another major highlight at this year’s exhibition was Maotan (贸探), Focus Technology’s newest AI solution designed specifically to improve foreign trade order conversion. Positioned as a “top-performing AI sales assistant” for every foreign trade professional, Trade Explorer focuses on solving three critical challenges: low follow-up and closing efficiency, lengthy product conversion cycles, and insufficient business knowledge accumulation.
The platform features three specialized AI agents—a Business Expert, an Operations Expert, and a Training Expert—and offers three distinctive advantages: long-term memory capabilities, enterprise digital asset management, and a dedicated foreign trade knowledge system. Together, these capabilities enable AI to deliver measurable business outcomes in real-world trade scenarios.
While continuously strengthening its supplier-side AI ecosystem, Focus Technology has also expanded its AI capabilities for buyers. To improve sourcing and decision-making efficiency for global procurement professionals, the company launched SourcingAI 1.0 in 2024, helping buyers quickly identify the right products from vast amounts of information.
In October 2025, the platform evolved into SourcingAI 2.0, positioning itself as a “Global Sourcing AI Partner.” Powered by a demand clarification model and a full-process AI-assisted decision-making system, SourcingAI 2.0 redefines the sourcing journey—from intelligent requirement analysis and supplier matching to supplier insights, procurement decision-making, and fulfillment collaboration. According to data from the MIC International Station User Experience Center, buyers using SourcingAI 2.0 achieve an average procurement efficiency improvement of 35%.
As cross-border e-commerce continues to emerge as a key driver of global trade growth, Focus Technology has also introduced Mentarc and Doba Pilot, two intelligent engines designed for cross-border distribution and operations.
Mentarc provides global distributors, cross-border e-commerce merchants, and SME trade practitioners with AI-powered product selection analysis, supplier discovery and matching, and store operation optimization. Meanwhile, Doba Pilot—built upon the U.S.-based dropshipping platform Doba.com, operated by a Focus Technology subsidiary—serves as an official AI e-commerce assistant, enabling retailers to manage the entire dropshipping workflow through natural-language interactions and achieve fully automated operations.
On the organizational productivity front, Focus Technology has launched FocusWork, a localized AI Agent workspace supporting multi-model switching, natural-language automation, multi-agent collaboration, and on-premises deployment. By deeply integrating AI into real business workflows, FocusWork helps enterprises unlock productivity gains at scale.
The company has also introduced Marvin (马上问), an AI-powered sales enablement solution that currently supports more than one thousand professional B2B sales representatives. By transforming traditional sales workflows and driving large-scale efficiency improvements, the platform significantly enhances conversion performance throughout the sales process.
During his keynote speech, Lu Yi emphasized that vertical AI applications for foreign trade have entered a new phase of practical deployment.
“The real challenge is no longer whether enterprises should adopt AI,” he said. “The question is how to make AI truly understand your business.”
Lu categorized the evolution of AI adoption into two stages. The first, AI Enabled, includes applications such as paid AI translation tools and large-language-model-generated outreach emails. “At its core, this still resembles a labor-intensive approach—efficiency improves, but the ceiling remains relatively low,” he explained.
The next stage, AI Native, fundamentally changes how organizations operate. “Humans become commanders, while AI agents become digital employees. A team of ten people can generate the output previously produced by one hundred.”
He concluded that AI Agents are rapidly evolving from productivity tools into digital employees, and that organizations capable of effectively leveraging Agent capabilities will gain a decisive advantage in the AI era.
“True AI-driven productivity gains come from deeply embedding AI into real business scenarios, absorbing an organization’s tacit knowledge, and redesigning workflows from the ground up. That is the key to transformation for foreign trade enterprises in the AI era,” Lu said.
As a technology company rooted in Jiangsu Province for over thirty years, Focus Technology combines deep AI expertise with decades of foreign trade experience to provide enterprises across the Yangtze River Delta and throughout China with a complete pathway toward intelligent transformation—from customer acquisition and conversion to operations and decision-making.
At this pivotal moment, as “AI + Foreign Trade” moves from concept to large-scale implementation, Focus Technology is helping Chinese exporters achieve intelligent transformation through a closed-loop approach that connects process efficiency directly to business growth.
